Default big brake question

just bought an 08 vette from a member that came with Baer brakes/rotors. He said he installed the fronts but never got around the the rears.. I have the rears new in box

however the more I research it I don't think they will fit the stock rear calipers

PLUS after 5 miles they squeal like hell .

a few questions..

will stock pads fit the aftermarket rotors and rid the squeal?
is it correct the rears won't fit?

need some opinions bc as nice as the car is it pains me to hear that noise!

I think Baer makes only stock size rotors.
Your noise is mostly from the pads but rotor surface can cause noise issues too.

Something missing here. You said it came with new rear un-installed brakes/rotors but you are asking if they will fit the stock calipers. What?

Do you mean it came with new brake "pads" and rotors? Is your Vette the base model or Z51 equiped? When you figure that out, just check the fitment on Baer's website. Do a search on "bedding brake pads" to help with you squealing issue.

Baer DOES make larger rear rotors that use the stock caliper. The calipers mount with an additional bracket that comes with the rotors. The pad will NOT contact the entire flat surface of the rotor. The Z51 brakes stock are like this as well. Squealing could be for various reasons from the type of pad to not using enough anti squeal lube during the installation.

thanks, I'm gonna get pics for visual reference since I'm clueless when it comes to brake systems. It appears to be Baer pads as well. The car is a non z51. The rears still gave stock rotors/pads. The fronts have the Baer setups and squel
