Default Battery Change DIY?

I have an 07 and have never changed a car battery on my own - I recall reading something about the bracket being tricky on this car or am I wrong?

Can someone also tell me which terminal to disconnect first etc. and anything else I need to know.

Thanks.

easy to change a battery, disconnect black(-) first then the red(+). There's a bolt at the base of the battery holding a clamp that holds that secures the battery, remove that but be sure not to drop the bolt as you may never see it again. get a good grip and lift it out being careful not to damage the paint, put a towel or cover on the fender. reverse the procedure and you'll need to re-index the windows,

Just loosen the nuts on each cable enough to get them off the terminal. Dont take those nuts all the way off.

Sound advice.

It's very easy to replace.

The most difficult part for me was finding a battery in stock locally.

It's easy to remove & replace the battery. But...

It's possible to install the wrong battery backwards and fry your electronics!!!
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...-to-start.html

So make sure your new battery has the correct post orientation AND that you install it correctly.

For reference, it might help you to take a picture before you remove the existing battery.

And make sure you get the correct battery size!

For '06 & '07, the C6 has a slightly bigger battery tray (on left):

The battery for your '07 is a Group Size 90, which is 246 x 175 x 175 millimeters.

I found an AC Delco for CAD 106 not too far from me.

I will take a picture ahead of time, good idea...I am getting an AC Delco so hopefully this should not be an issue (I assume it will look a lot like my OEM battery)

The parts guy did mention the 90 which I guess he was referring to the size...

Very important...those are NOT standard nuts and are VERY hard to replace. Loosen by one turn should be enough to wiggle the clamp off the post of the battery. Negative first.

It's also a good idea to clean both the battery posts and the inside of the cable terminals before installation. A wire brush or fine grit sandpaper will remove light greyish corrosion. If the terminals have any white gooey corrosion, let them soak in a container with a baking soda and water solution and then rinse and dry before using the brush or sandpaper.

I just replaced mine last week.
Quick and easy, no problems.
All that you need to do afterwards is re-index the windows.
