The choice of wheel imo hinges on what you want your Vette to be to you.Chrome in my mind seems to work well with verts as most vert's are used as cruisers. However the designers of today's high performance will agree with you and I.Just look at all the high end variants of super cars. Not many with chrome wheels.Down grade? Actually "traded out"my chromes for comp greys before I rolled it off the showroom floor.Totally changed the look of a black Z for the better.Imo.

As you said your opinion is the only one that matters. So what the hell, to me looking at the 2 pictures it is like night and day difference. Glad you are happy with the Silver wheels, for methe Chrome really makes that Vette look good.

I have a Cyber Grey GS on order. Before I pulled the trigger on the options I wanted I had the chance to see two Cyber Grey GS coupes side by side. One had crome wheels and one had the silver painted wheels. Even though I went in with the idea that I MUST have crome wheels I liked the look of the silver painted wheels with the CG color a lot more. My wife like them the best too.

If you change the look of your ride to get the approval of others you better be ready to change often. Everyone has their own idea of what looks good and what does not.

I agree that the painted rims dull the look some, but for me that is a good thing.

Painted comp grey split spoke on my MS 08.

I can understand the concept of chrome looking ok on verts too.

Basically though I am not a chrome lover at all.

i love the look of the oem 08 painted split spoke rims always did. so when i bought my new 12 coupe a couple on months ago i found some split spokes from a member that were like brand new and put them on. now my friends say; you have a brand new 12 coupe with 08 wheels on it everybody is gonna think its a 08. to which i reply i dont give a ****, its the look i wanted from day one, ITS MY CAR AND I LIKE IT. i still have my new five spokes brand new in the box if i change my mind.

Everyone's got an opinion. I have chrome on my GS Cyber Gray but I would love to see what the silver wheels do for it against the silver hash marks on the fenders (Heritage pkg).

Isn't going to happen though until I actually see one like it. Not going to pony up the $1K to find out I don't like them.

Go with what you like not what everybody thinks!

The silver wheels on my wifes BMW Z4 look great and have me thinking.....

Our 2009 came with the chrome Gumbys, but after a year I replaced them with the silver painted split-spokes that were standard for that year.

The glittering chrome and reverse taper spokes looked kinda ghetto to me, I called the car "my pimpmobile".

Meh, I don't care for either option. You should have gone with competition gray wheels instead IMO.

Default my vote ...

Is this an essay poll? Anyway ... love the chrome - sorry

love that last part of my detailing, when I chrome polish the wheels and tips. Nothing quite like buffing off that dull polish to a beautiful shine !

The painted Silver doesn't really do much for CG. Or, any other color for that matter. Not a huge fan of Chrome. But, it's the best choice of the three finishes.

This is a very dusty cyber grey that I was looking at a few weeks back with the silver painted wheels.

Over the years, most high-end cars with, say, Campagnolo wheels such as Ferrari & Lamborghini used painted wheels, not chrome. I ordered my C6 with the painted wheels and, having seen it side by side with the same car wearing chrome wheels . . . . I definitely made the right choice.

I should add, "for me". Some folks do like their chrome, and it's only right that they should be able to get it. That's why they offer both. Likewise with the all-black wheels - definitely not for me, I think it makes the car look like a cheap taxicab - but some folks like 'em.

Chrome is played out. Painted isn't bad, I prefer comp gray or black.

I prefer painted over chrome, but I also dont really care for the 5 spokes. I personally would have put some black spiders or ultraleggera's on there!
