If you don't experience any symptoms driving, and the tires don't seem to be wearing unevenly, what is your rule of thumb for having one done.?
The reason I ask is that I just got pilots after 20,000 on gy run flats., and never had had an alignment because I never experienced any driving issues and never noticed unusual tire wear. I'm having one done with the brand new shoes.

you didn't say if the GY were GS2 or Supercars
if Supercars, an alignment would be a waste of time and money, 20K with no abnormal wear indicates alignment is good
if GS2, and you only got 20K out of them, something is wrong, you need an alignment
Years ago we used to throw in a free alignment with the purchase of four tires. I found very very few that did not need something corrected. Since then I always have the alignment checked when I buy new tires. Later! Frank
there is a huge difference between the base tires (GS2) and Z51 (Supercars) GS2 make more noise, and more so as they get older IMO
I too just switched to PS2 ZP, but the thing you have to remember is comparing your old worn out tire to your brand new one is not an apples to apples comparison
that said, I don't disagree, PS2 is quieter, gives a more comfortable ride

an alignment should not be done to specs, it should be done to the driver
wear will give an indication whether the alignment settings were matched properly.
if there was no abnormal wear on the tires, the alignment is good for the car with it's particular driver

i wanted all season,run-flat,and a quieter ride in the vert.
My rule of thumb is that when I get new tires we (the alignment guy and I) look at the old tires, if all 4 wore even we don't do a thing. But if we notice 1 or more tires that have worn in one area more than other areas on the same tire I get an alignment taking the wear pattern into account. For example, if the two rear tires were corded on the insides and the rest of the tire had tread on it we would reduce the rear camber 1 to 2 tenths depending on how bad it was.
Be sure to buy a tread depth gauge (<$10) if you don't have one already, and measure the tread at each groove every few thousand miles. Checking by eyeball alone, you can have some significantly uneven wear before noticing it.

Don't do anything. If the tires are wearing great it doesn't matter which ones you go to do not touch the alignment.
the wisdom on this thread seems to indicate that if the tires are wearing fine (maybe with one addition of a tread depth gauge), then leave it alone. bon chance!
If he has a GS/Z06 then the wear mileage is fantastic. If it is a base (which I think it might be since he mentioned A/S) then 20k miles on OEM tires is not good and I would get an alignment.
I always get an alignment with new tires. Also, check the pfadt street specs for the alignment. do a search on here. It will be better for wear on the new shoes.

just had my alignment done targeting the Pfadt Street specs...
