Beeps revisited
2010 Grand sport.
As some of you will remember, I posted last fall that on our way home from Bonneville, the GS started emiting beeps from somewhere in the dash. I can not hear them, but my wife can and it drives her nuts.
It is two beeps, then three, close together, then it repeats and repeats.
At the time no one had ever heard of this. Well today we took a run up to Solvang with a stop for lunch in Ventura.
On the way to lunch, I noticed the air bag light was on on the dash. After lunch we started up the coast, and my wife tells me, it is beeping again.
I look down for a message, and nothing, however the air bag light is out. It beeped all the way up the coast. When we got off the freeway to go to Solvang, I pulled into a gas station and turned off the engine. Then restarted it, as I pulled out, she said it beeped again, then stopped. The rest of the drive in to town, no beeping, but the airbag light was on again.
So, here is the deal. It is not the same an the ding ding you get if you don't have the seat belt on, I can hear that.
Also, sometimes in the garage with the engine off, it will beep when the door is open. That beep I can hear also. I have never heard the beep she is discribing.
Also it never happens when she takes the car on trips, even with a girl friend in the passanger seat.
I reposted this today because it happened again, and also there are now a lot more people with GSs on the board now.
Has anyone experienced this?
She was going to go with me to Vegas next weekend for the Rockabilly Reunion (Duane Eddy live ), but now she may opt out.

I know that a "beep" is not a "click"... but maybe your wife hears the relays clicking in the passenger footwell.
Happens when the brake pedal is pressed. The driver might not notice this noise while driving.

Might also involve the keyless access system:

That is, some noise is normal. If it's "excessive", replacing the relay might fix it.
Here's a thread describing a fix that eliminates the noise:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-solution.html
Not trying to offend you, but maybe it's only a problem when you're driving.
That is, maybe she wants to drive. Or maybe she just wants more Corvette-time with her girlfriend.
Anyway, I have a hunch that fixing the noise won't solve the problem.

Have dealer check seat belt system if light keeps coming off and on. Also check connector at seatbelt, maybe the connector needs to be seated good.

When we go home tomorrow, she will drive some. We will see if it beeps with her driving. It apparently has only happened when there are two fobs in the car.
When we come out to the parking lot, I open her door, so it senses my fob, then she gets in, so her fob is the first one in the car even though it sensed mine first.
Then again it could have happened when I was driving alone and I don't know it.
It is something that is programmed as it does two, then three, and repeats. It only does it when cruising at highway speed with cruise on and not touching any pedals. (Except the one time when I pulled out of the gas station yesterday ).
I can't believe no other C6 owners have not had this happen.

Well we may be on to something. On the way home, my wife suspected that because she wasn't always sitting correctly in the seat, that could have been setting off the beeps.
So she sat correctly when we left for home and we went for about two hours and 100+ miles with no beeps.
Then she turned and sat kind of sideways as she had done when for a while on the way up. Sure enough, a couple of minutes later, the beeps started.
All the time, the rear view mirror says p"passenger air bag on", so no matter how she sat, it knew she was in the seat, but unless she sat perfectly straight, the beeping starts.

If it only does it with both keyfobs in the car, then that is most likely the problem.
If you crank the car (with only one fob near it), then get out of it with the fob in your pocket, can you hear the beeps? If not ask your wife if she can. If so then your problem is most likely having the 2 fobs in the car at the same time.

Do you have memory seats? The beeps for storing those settings are pretty quiet, especially while driving. Just so happens I think there are three of them when settings are stored, and on top of that the seats and stuff won't move while the car is in operation.
Maybe you have a buggy memory module and two fobs is throwing it off somehow.

Please help. The dealer wants 150.00 per hour to find the beeping
Same problem. No warning on dash no lights ?
Very random on the beeps 1. Then 2 then 3 or 4 then stop for a bit then start up again, one passenger or two made no difference , I called onstar while I was driving to check system while it beeped for a hour straight
Nothing showed up, told me to take to dealer,
I booked it in and the dealer says they will not look at it till it beeps in the technicians stall ,
Sometimes I drive no beeps. Then hit a bump or turn left. , then it beeps 2 or 3 times stops
The beeping sound is the same used on the seat memory "
Called gm customer service. They made a record of the problem ,
But nothing . First started at 1500 Kim's last sept , now 13000 Kim's
After a trip down pacific coast hi way and back , car sat all winter
6 months , now no warranty left, 88 grand car and someone ringing the door bell. Looks like I am not the only one. GM. 2011 GS

Check the big connectors in the passenger foot-well. Many strange problems have been attributed to these.
When she sits 'normal' she may be pressing on these as they are vulnerable and it's easy to do.

What you've described, no.

Jay before you set out (today?), why not at least try disconnecting the battery to force reboot the computer.
Cheap & easy, has been known to clear many-a-weird electronic gremlin over the years as reported.
Can also pull a specific fuse, accomplishes the same as a disconnect; however, I can't recall which # at this time. Hopefully other members will chime-in on fuse ID. Try it.
I would look for a loose connection under passenger seat. Common problem for them to drag and come loose. Use a zip tie to fix it.
Also try putting her fob in the hatch.
Good luck.
As we all know: If Mama ain't happy, Daddy ain't happy. Lol

Were you using the Cruise Control at the time of any of the dings? If so, did the cruise kick off?
Check to see if she is maybe moving the E Brake handle. It does not take much and it will ding. She may by just nudging it without even knowing it.
