I just picked up my '07 from the dealership. The problem is the fuel gauge stops working. It's been back 3 times for this problem.
The DIC "Range" setting is way off. The dealership told me that I need to put "4-5 tanks of gas" through the car before it will register the actual range correctly.
I have read on the forum about this. It is recommended to use Chevron gas or get the techron additive. This cleans the contacts on the sending unit. Keep us updated and hope you get problem fixed.

Does anyone know if this is true or B.S.?

IMHO....sounds like B.S. Might be worthwhile to try to track down the previous owner to see if the problem existed in the past. If the Dealer took the car on a trade-in, you might insist that they identify the prior owner for you.
When I mentioned that I just picked the car up, I meant from the servce department. I know the 1st owner. He's a good friend. No, he never had any problems like this.
If that doesn't work, it might be a PCM problem. Or the fuel level sensors might be irreparably gummed-up or otherwise faulty... only accessble by removing the fuel tanks: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-question.html

I exclusively run my '07 on either Chevron or Shell gas. At around 50K, it developed the fuel gauge issue. For 2 months I ran a bottle of Techron with every fill up and that didn't resolve it.
I ended up replacing the sending units in both tanks, even though only the passenger side one was the one reported as bad (had both tanks out anyway, might as well replace 'em both to be safe).

I had a problem like this on my 05 and when they pulled the battery and or did a reflash it totally screwed up the DIC range reading. Assuming all else is working well your DIC will return to giving you its numbers. This works off of averages and you need miles put on vs. different speeds to bring the DIC up right.
For the fuel gauge itself not working I know Techron supplement put in took care of that type problem with my 98 (C5), but the two models are close. I ended up putting in Techron every third tank after that to keep it working right. We had no gas around here with Techron in it so I grabbed a few cans at PEP boys.
