There is also an inside temperature sensor located to
the left of the ignition switch. The automatic climate
control system uses this sensor to receive information,
so if you block or cover it, the system will not function
properly.

The one below is the sense microphone for the radio's Auto-Volume/Auto-EQ.

There are lots of little tidbits of info in the Owner's Manual that will save you from a lot of angst.
My 'normal' recommendation for new owners is to sit in the car as you read it (3 times), and try everything as you go along.
