So the dealer looked up my vim and said the silver is tarnish silver. I was under the assumption it was blade silver or machine silver on an 08. Is tarnish silver the ne they may use for one of these?

 

2008 is Machine Silver. Ask me how I know.

Tarnish silver may have been a plant name, I'm not sure.

 

GM/Chevrolet has given the same paint on the same car different names several times. I dont know why they do it but they have done it several times...

 

The dealer did the same thing with my 05 its mag red and they ran the vin and said it was red tintcoat

 

Just had my front 2005 Machine Silver bumper re-painted. Body shop also came up with tarnish silver for the name after running the paint number. I guess GM decided Machine Silver would be a better/easier to sell name for a corvette than tarnish silver.
