Default Flat tire?

What is the best way to prepare for or deal with a flat tire on the road?
Plugs? If so, any recomendations?
Small on - board compressor? If so what kind?

I've had 4 flat tires in 7+ years while driving a C6. Glad I had runflats all that time.

When you get a flat with them, you just slow down to 55 MPH and keep going.

Runflats best. Saying that, i got tired of the rough ride and noise and went with non-runflats.

Small compressor & Green slime & repair kit (all bought at Walmart) & ensured my insurance would cover for a flat, with only flat bed tow.

Problem with small compressor is that it could only handle a small slow leak.
Slime if leak is other than very slow, but mess to cleanup will cost if used.
Plug repair is not probable and would be last resort attempt.

Flat bed if all other fails.

I used Dyna Plug but I also carry the Slime Safety Kit with an additional air compressor that has a jump the battery feature.

Check the DIC tire pressure often, as it's the easiest and best method to avoid/detect problems.

I carry a small compressor for small leaks and a cellphone, CC, and cash for big leaks.

I'm running non-runflats. Some of the places I go, don't have the capability to remove or repair a runflat.

I don't fear being stranded. If you never have been, then the first time is a little scary. Once you realize an inconvenience is not a life or death matter, you can relax and concentrate on resolving problems.

A spare tire might be a good idea... just depends where you're going.

I love it when people say, get a small compressor. Get a real compressor, or don't even bother. These little jobs could take hours, before doing much of anything. I have a Viair 90P that powers directly from the battery. Still small enough to fit in a rear storage cubby though.
