I drive three different vehicals on and off on a regular basis so I bought a Sirius portable receiver with docking stations for all my rides and home. I want to utilize the built in XM antenna in the vette (12 GS vert w/nav) and plug it into the docking station. Anyone know where the XM module is located?

Long story short don't bother. Even with it being called "Sirius/xm" they were separate companies not that long ago. As a result an Xm antenna will not work with a Sirius tuner. This why they are still selling stereo receivers that are either XM or Sirius. Btw,I think Sirius is WAy better. No NFL network on XM (Sirius ch 88). What gives?

I replaced my xm receiver with a sirius one and the antenna connection worked fine.
Only problem with the op's plan is an extension would be needed to go from the waterfall area to the dash area. If it were me I'd just find a place for the antenna that comes with the sirius receiver.
I swapped the XM tuner for a SIRIUS model in my Vert.
The tuner module is under the waterfall, couple screws and a couple push pins to remove the waterfall panel.
Use the orange/yellow antenna lead, it does work. You can pop off the plastic covers/clips and you will find it looks like a "normal" antenna connector.
As was stated above, you will need to extend the antenna cable (ask DDMods for help on the correct part) to the docking station.
How are you going to get the audio from the SIRIUS tuner into the Nav Head Unit?
You could break into the audio wiring for the OEM XM tuner but I believe that if you disconnect the comm./data link of the XM tuner from the Head Unit, you lose the SAT bands on the Head Unit. At least that's what happens with the older CD Changer Head Unit. Not sure about the Nav.
You could also just think of your SIRIUS tuner as being the same as a generic MP3 player and use a PAL. Ray Kawal is the Master of that domain.
Post some pics of your install when it's done, I haven't seen anyone post about doing this particular mod yet.
I liked XM a lot better before they merged. Today, I get much worse reception. I dont know what they did but the reception is not anywhere close to what it was before...

Definately agree. Thanks to the deterioration of XM quality plus a couple of horrendous experiences with Sirius XM "customer service" I added ipod adaptors to our daily drivers and my vert. I also opened an account with itunes and have started to put together a great music library and playlists. I then "fired" Sirius XM.
I highly recommend taking this approach for automotive sound systems. Sound quality is top notch, I control the content, no commercial messages, etc. etc. I should have done much it sooner.
I'm just speculating, but maybe they had to reduce transmission power levels to keep the aging satellites in orbit longer.
I read a while back that they had a new one to put up in the sky, but I'm not sure if they did.
The XM Sat's are parked above the equator and the SIRIUS Sat's are moving in orbit from pole to pole so sometimes you can have a sat directly overhead. When that happens, I've gotten perfect reception even in the densest forest up here in the NW.
I also think SIRIUS sounds better than XM and I signed up before the merge and had excellent customer service and the option of "turning off" the subscription in the winter.
XM's failings are well documented and I too, definitely prefer to control my own music selections without commercials.
But the reason I keep the service is I really like the comedy, sports and some news stations. And occasionally I hear a "new" song I like and I can add it to the collection.
