Default Anyone Have GOOD Pictures of Jack Stand Locations?

I've searched and I've seen everyones opinions on the best places to jack the car and the best places to put the jack stands.

My jack stands don't span the width of the crossmember, it fits in between the sides of the crossmember, but that just doesn't seem right.

Can anyone post a GOOD picture of exactly where to place the jack stands in the front and rear? I've seen the picture in the manual, but I'm a visual person and would really like to see a car up on jackstands to know exactly were/how to place the stands.

I dont't have the cross beam adapter for my jack so I'm going to have to do this one corner at a time.

Yes, a lot less thinking went into the Mustang! My owners manual leaves little doubt. It's dark now, but I'll try to get pic tomorrow.

Maybe it's just me, but looking at the way Bugman has the jack stands positioned, it looks pretty dangerous. It seems like the car/pads could easily just slide right off of the jack stands.

I'm still trying to figure out the proper way to jack up my vette. It was way easier (and cheaper) to get my 370Z on jack stands.

I currently have a Harbor Freight jack, but it's no way long enough to reach the cross member. I'm probably going to buy Race Ramps for when I do oil changes and other work that doesn't require taking off the wheels, so I'm hoping that will get me high enough to use my current jack, but I'm still not sure about where to position the jack stands.

here's an option I saw at Bloomington Gold last year. They work well on a C6 too. These use the factory "frame contact" lift point for the the jack and the jack stand.

There's a website www.jackpointjackstands.com

Here's how I've been doing it. Jack between the front and rear jack points and lower it on to the pucks.

Nothing to protect the chassis? It doesn't look like that area is intended to support the weight of one side of the car.

Sure it will. The frame rail goes from front to back between the wheels. Actually if you lift high enough from the front jacking puck it will lift the rear too.
HERE are some more pictures.

Ahh, but I see in the other pictures there are rubber strips used to protect the chassis. I couldn't see that in the first picture.

Yeh, you can see in the video there's a pin that goes from the pad up into the hole in the chassis at the jacking spot. When you lower the car, everything locks together and the stands are like 12"x16" at the base. When the car is on these jack stands it feels like you set the chassis on the ground. It's that solid. There's also a rubber pad that protects the chassis from metal to metal contact.

jacking it up in the middle won't cause damage to the car?

Wow! Answering my post from 6 years ago!
It's a steel frame. Very strong and rigid and only 6 or so inches from the preferred jack points. No, it won't cause damage to the car.
