Default Is there any way to reduce the volume of ....

...the beep when making selections and choosing the options on the DIC? It's pretty loud and annoying.

I know, I know...in the grand scheme of things, it's an unimportant issue...but if it's possible to make that puppy not bark so loud, I'd like to know about it.

TIA...

This has been asked before, and I think the answer is no, it can't be changed. Hard programmed into one of the control modules.

If the beeps are too loud on your DIC,you might go deaf if you press the go pedal more than half way!

Chime Level Adjustment
The radio is used to adjust the vehicle’s chime level.
To change the volume level of the chime, press and hold
pushbutton 6 with the ignition on and the radio power
off. The volume level will change from the normal
level to loud, and LOUD will appear on the radio display.
To change back to the default or normal setting,
press and hold pushbutton 6 again. The volume level
will change from the loud level to normal, and NORMAL
will appear on the radio display. Only one chime will
be heard when changing from the normal to the
loud setting. Each time the chime volume is changed,
three chimes will sound as an example of the new
volume selected. Removing the radio and not replacing
it with a factory radio or chime module will disable
vehicle chimes.

There are two different volume levels. The default is the lower of the two.

If you switch the Front and Rear outputs (thereby reversing the fader) the chimes will be behind you (from Front Left to Rear Left) so that's an improvement, and can be further lowered if you are using a line-driver or amp and cut-down the rear db's ...

Feel lucky you can hear them. You could be wearing hearing aids like me. I freaked out the first time I drove after getting them. I had never heard those sounds before.Hearing those sounds is music to me

Our 2006 was annoyingly loud, our 2009 is barely audible.
Both had the Bose radio/nav
