Default Battery Tender

Any recommendation for a battery tender for 2006 C-6, brands, etc, pros vs cons on keeping one on all the time when car is not in use.

I use a Deltran Battery Tender Plus w/cig lighter adapter. Keep it connected 24/7 whenever the car is not being used.
Others here use a CTEK 3300. A few other brands are also mentioned here from time-to-time...

I also agree but I simply connect my Battery Tender Plus to the battery.

I got this Black and Decker at Home Depot...it has adapters included for battery lugs, battery clips and cigarette lighter plug. $20. Right by the generators.

This is what I use,from Walmart ...

Schumacher XM1-5 1.5 Amp Fully Automatic Power Charger and Maintainer : This fully automatic microprocessor controlled, unique automatic battery charger maintains both 6 volt and 12 volt batteries keeping them at full charge using float-mode monitoring. Great for maintaining small and large batteries kept in storage such as motorcycles, classic cars, RVs and boats. This 1.5 ampere charger and maintainer is perfect for charging small batteries. LEDs indicate Connected, Charging and Charged. It automatically switches from full charge to float-mode monitoring. The quick-disconnect harness snaps either connector into place in seconds and can be used with the 50 ampere clamps or permanently attach the ring connectors; this is great for hard-to-reach motorcycle batteries. Reverse-hookup protection increases safety. The auto voltage detection means the charger automatically determines whether the connected battery is a 6 volt battery or a 12 volt battery.

Hi there,

i also use the CTEK 3300. since the last 2 seasons. Works just great. I got it at a pretty low pric here in Canada ( $ 50 ).

But after i saw what CCLIVE just wrote, the Black & Decker at Home depot seems like a very good deal ! If i had to choose right now, i would probably go for that choice.

Some of the bass boat types are a black brick ( the size of a fat wallet ) only a red and green LED charge light .These look tougher and can be soaked in water and stepped on . Two ring lugs for the battery posts . Could be installed permanently with easy cord access / drive off disconnect .

Battery Tender Jr. You don't need a lot of power. You aren't using it as a charger, just a tender. I try to keep mine on if I don't expect to drive for a couple of days. The battery will last longer if you put it on every time just as soon as you finish driving.

Be sure to get a lighter hook up if you want convienience. Opening the hood or hatch and connecting to the battery is a hassle but if you are only doing it once in the fall...

ctek is good. not sure if this is just on mine, but every time you disconnect, you have to reset it to charge. otherwise, it shows connected but no setting for what charge to be on (until you push the buttons). had a fellow come on here couple months ago complaining about his ctek, but I believe that was his issue---not pushing the right buttons each time it was reconnected. my old schumacher was just plug into lighter and it's working.

I have been using this one all winter now. I put on my cars every three weeks and let it charge the batteries up in both of my Corvettes. I am very happy with it. $20.00 at Walmarts.

It is probably confusing, right? I think most people would say that ANY of the ones mentioned here would do a great job.
