Have any members installed these tires on their Vette? Discount tires have these on sale for $158 each plus shipping. Which in my case is $17.50 ea. They are ZR and come with a 50,000 mile warranty.
It was a pretty good tire back in the late 80's. I use to run them on my Camaro's. Just a little stiff. My wife accidently replaced them with ST's when I was on vacation one year and I fell in love with them. A little softer ride for the t-top car. Firestones were crap back then.
to save money? hope you have $0 deductible insurance, tires is the best insurance policy you can buy, get the best tire available
had these tires on my Fiero back in 88-90, they were hard and I would never put something like that on again, yes, still have the car, it has Bridgestone Potenza on now
I may have missed something on the website but I don't see them available in either the front or the rear size for a C6. I didn't see any 19" sizes at all.
And why would you put 40 year old tire technology on a C6 ?

The reason I posted this was to find out about the tires.....I never heard of them before. And, NOW I know. And to the poster about why I would put cheap tires on a 50k sports car.....BTW, mine cost 67k for the same reason YOU drive 5 miles to save 2 cents on a gallon of gas.
I need tires and while looking for them on the various web sites I saw this Tire. I will end up with the Michelin Pilot Sport AS from the Tire Rack. That is if my local dealer won't match the price.
I have a new set on my DD Grand Prix, didn't know they were available in Corvette sizes. They are pretty good tires, good wet traction and quiet. Doubt they are up to level of stick for a Corvette though..
I think this redition of the Eagle GT has only been out for 6 months or so..

Just because they have the same name as a tire from 40 years ago does not mean that they use that tech. It would be very expensive for a company to manufacture tires that have substantially different technology from the rest. The Firestone Wide Oval is a well regarded tire here on the forum and it certainly doesn't use the tech from the tire of the same name from the early 1970's. Now that was a bad tire.
We had and may still have those tires on our Crown Vic patrol cars. Those have been around a long time, always served us well. I doubt they come in Z06 tire sizes though.
I love my hankooks.... Whats your beef with them???
They have no where near the kind of grip required for a car with this type of horsepower. Unless of course you are constantly babying it, but then, why own a Corvette in the first place? The sidewall is mega soft too. Don't get me wrong, on a daily driven non-sports car, I'd totally recommend them.
FYI, my opinions are based off of owning the V12's on my 370Z. I MUCH preferred the Continental DW tires instead. Way more grip, stiffer sidewall, and they lasted a lot longer.
Hankooks are junk. Daughter has them on her Sonic and they are terrible in the snow, ride is loud also.
I look at it this way. Your $60k car is riding on 4 patches of rubber. That is the only part of the car that is touching the ground. I want those patches of rubber to be the best possible.
Also read the fine print about the warranty. Michelin rates the A/S ZP at 45k miles UNLESS your tires are different size, then the rears are only rated at 22,500. PS2 ZP has a 20k rating. After 4/32s your A/S capability goes out the window.
Actually, while not for my Vette, didn't know the Eagle GT name was still in use. Did some research for my daily car, and actually look like pretty good tires. Really don't find this a strange question about mounting these on a Vette at all. Recall when General was making all season tires in Vette sizes, many were using them. The new style Eagle GT's actually look like a performance step up from those.
