Any crazy-fast 400+ hp cornering/braking demon of an American icon sportscar that gets over 30 mpg while easing down the highway at under 1500 rpm is, INDEED, environmentally friendly!

I didn't know that the Corvette was environmentally friendly.

Yep and rated at 1mpg better hwy than an accord V6 with manual! And only an extra 150hp.
only mod is the M2W, which is normally "closed" on the highway...suspect if driven below 2K rpm for a few hours
the mpg would go up to 22 or 23 (doubt any higher). But, doing so just reduces the fun factor !

I am talking instantaneous mpg. My base is taching under 1500 at 70 mph--- aren't you?
My ZR gets 21-23 depending on temp/wind etc. I think that's the commonly reported experience as well. My Z would get high 20s. And it seems a lot of narrow body coupes easily achieve low 30s.
Given the performance of all of them, I think they do pretty darned good.
They get better fuel mileage than the vast, vast majority of cars on the road, including many midsize sedans.
Same here pretty much, but it's still a nice car. I've been pretty happy with it so far in regards to the ride, build quality, all the toys, etc. You know the deal with them from the Buick forum... I've been pretty lucky with no major issues except for the new NAV radio they put in under warranty early in its life.
