Default seat problem

Hi Guys:
I have a 05 vette and the drivers seat works partially. When i purchased the vette from the prevouis owner the seat was not working at all. I put a generic module and power it up and seat goes forward and back when activated.I would like to fix this so the seat will operate normally back and foward and up and down. Does this mean that seat module is damage? does the memory has to do something with this? please help
JJ

What do you mean by a generic module? There is a specific switch that controls up/down/forward/backward. The switch fits on either seat. The switch price is about $75 plus shipping from several forum GM Parts vendors. The memory module is separate from the seat switch and you don't need a memory module to make the seat work.

Bill:
What i meant it is a module from a 82 chevrolet caprice. I am using the same switch and is working back and forth but not up and down. Is the switch faulty? I am just guessing here the ideaa of using this module was a idea from a friend, Any suggestion to make the seat work like it is supposed to?
