Default Active Handling Problem

On my way home from work tonight and the dash displayed "Service Active Handling System". Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be. I am really concerned about how much this could cost to fix since I no longer have a warranty. I have a 06 C6 base coupe with 11,600 miles on it.

i'd first read #10 (including the doc link) and #20 here...
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ng-recall.html

then you can do a search for 'Service Active Handling' and read for the next two days straight on others problems, suggestions, solutions.

fyi... could you edit your post to state year / model and any mods done, telescoping steering column or not, plus any work done it on lately, ya know, more details , might help a little

looking up your year for base model, i came up with two TSB's, not to say they will fix yours, but at least a starting point for resolution ...

Warranty or not - you need to get the car to an authorized GM service center ... check your area for a reliable dealer.

I had the SAH code right after my winter storage this year on my '07 coupe and it turned out to be the harmonic balancer that caused the code.

Don't take a chance with your car

for tsb 06.02.35.002B on telescoping steering, its part # 19179794 for code C0710 (see topic here http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...d.php?t=138224 )

part... http://store.gmpartshouse.com/parts/...icleid=1432065

instructions to do the tsb if you have that problem and not covered but i think you are,
http://s680.photobucket.com/albums/v..._AV8R/?start=0

Your recall is
Campaign Number 10V17200
Vehicles Affected built during March 2004 and January 2006
w/Tilt and Telescoping Column
Chevrolet 1-800-630-2438

So, if your car is not in that build date, then you have no recall. Get the code scanned and proceed from there.

fastcarz06,

I'm sorry you are having a Service Active Handling System message. If you want to send me a private message with your VIN I can check to see if you have any open recalls for this.
