Default Scratched Windshield

Had replacement wiper blades and it seems the rubber on the tip of one of them broke off and very noticeably scratched the glass. Any recommendations on what to do besides replacing the entire windshield? I used compound and various scratch removers, and it seemed to help a little. Thanks!

There is a specific glass polish that you use with a air drill.
As you polish the scratch out, you are essentially removing glass.
A distortion occurs in that polished area.

Worth a try? Else replace.

If it distorts , would you want to do it ?

Perhaps. A little distortion would probably be less noticeable than the nasty arched scratches.

Just some compound I had lying around, and Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0, but it really didn't do much.

You could also try some tooth paste.

I purchased pumice and a special block, from a glass dealer and polished out light windshield wiper marks. The process isn't fast but the marks are gone. If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail forget polishing, it is replacement time.

I would take it to a glass shop and let them repair it.
