2005 Column lock question??

Default 2005 Column lock question??
I have a new to me 2005 M6 and started reading about this column lock...so far no issues BUT if it does happen is there any quick fix to get me home or do I have to get the car towed???

is that the one that has a safety recall where you basically tie the wires out of the way? or perhaps that was for the active handling issue?

There should be a safety recall. You should get it fixed up before something goes wrong just to be safe. It won't cost you anything.
