Default Oil Pressure Sensor Replacement

I have a 2002 small block and the oil guage sending unit has gone out. Its located at the very back of the block on top just behind the intake manifold. Has anyone changed it out WITHOUT removing the intake manifold ?. I know the steps to do it by taking off the intake manifold but I'd like to find an easier way. I guess its common for these sending units to go bad.

Here is what one guy did step by step on another Forum. He relocated it so next time it will be nice and easy to change

i posted a long time ago...go thru the top...remove wiper blades, plastic cover..drill a hole 1" in the panel above sensor..use a good socket that won't drop it...unscrew lift out...put in new one and repeat assembly in reverse order...done..
there should be some examples on the c5 forum..do a search, its easy and saves a bunch of time and hassel.....
