i literally did it ten times atleast. used a whole container of fluid, pumped that pig like 50 times per session and it was still brown like my uncle bob's toilet water after his colonoscopy within a matter of miles.
I am worried about your Uncle Bob! You didn't use the same turkey baster on him that you used on your Corvette, did you?
I have done the ranger method about 5 times in 5 miles and the fluid still gets really dark right away. My question is when you put the dot 4 in do you fill it to the max line or the min line ? in my manual it says to only put it at the min line. Im thinking if i put it to the max line when flushing it out i wont have to do it so many times. but for the last fill up i will leave it at the min line as the manual recommends. to fill it to the min line its only like 2-3 tablespoon is this why its taking forever to run clear ?
talon90 just had a thread on this, this week.
the quick color change is mainly from the seals. Once you have changed the fluid a number of times, it will stay clear longer and longer. The pigment from the seals starts to diminish.
Now if you drive aggressively, you will see the color change more quickly. That is from clutch dust getting past the seals.
Read up on it. It really isn't a mystery, or difficult.
As far as how far to fill it, I would go half way between min and max.
