I just replaced my battery in my 2008 Z06 4000 miles original car. - The car sat for 1 year in storage and now the reduced engine power light is on along with traction (which I understand go hand in hand) There was never a problem until the battery was disconnected. The car will start and after 30 seconds shuts itself off. I can get a scanner and clear all the codes, but will this help? Thanks all.

Get a scanner, read the codes and post them here. Obviously something set the code. Once you get that information it will be easier to determine what the cause is and how to remedy it.

I think I would get a scanner and READ the codes before clearing them. Post the DTCs and someone might be able help.

Where was the 'Z stored? It sounds like maybe a mouse or something could have chewed on a wire/wiring harness.

I had that happen to me when I had stored my Camaro for several months back when I was in the service. There was a harness above the steering column on the fire wall and had been chewed by a mouse or rat or something. The dealer fixed the harness and I never had any problem after that. Kept that car nearly 10 years...
