Default How do you clean bug guts!

So my daily driver has some bug guts on the front in....before I start scrubbing away and F***ing up my paint... I thought I would ask all of you what is the best way?

Type of cleaner, spray? Type of rag? Motion/ process of bug gut removal?

THANKS GUYS!

You can use use Poorboy's Bug squash, P21S Total Auto Wash or an all purpose cleaner (properly diluted for paint). The key is to let the product soak for a minute or so. If the bug remnants are not too bad, I used a microfiber towel to wipe. If they bug remnants are bad, I'll use a bucket with clean water and a wash mitt to remove.

Put a good coat of wax on you car. Then the bugs will slide right off with some detail spray.

Bugs wipe right off of my ride. I work 3rd shift & drive at night all the time. Lots of redneck bugs in Indiana, lol. I use Zaino, bugs wipe off easily. So far: z5-z5-z2-z5.

You drive when there are bugs out and about? Never entered my mind to do something like that in my Vette.

Love bugs are bad in Florida this time of year, so this is my daily routine when I get home.

I start with soaking a small towel with as hot of water as I can take on my hands, and pat wet the area.

Let it soak a little, then pat again with the hot water towel.

Rinse it in the hot water bucket, and by the third time it's clean.

Then spray over the area with wax detail, wipe it with a dry towel and call it a day.

I just soak the towels (bath size) and lay them across the car for 20-30 minutes....remove towels and bugs, guts etc come right off

I drive a 20k mi/yr C6 and live in the southeast.

The best product I've used so far for removal of caked and baked on bugs is Optimum Power Clean. If 3:1 doesn't work, use it undiluted.

Clean them more than once a year. j/k

As others have stated its important to have a good layer of wax. After that some will just come off like nothing. Others though..........the big "yeller" ones as I hear them called will cake on and are nasty. I use just a mit and if that doesnt than some detailer and a mircro-fiber cloth.

There was a thread about Diamondite Bug Eraser on here last month. I bought a bottle of it and I must say I'm impressed. What I've been doing is wetting my car down, spraying the Diamondite on and I clean my wheels which takes about 20 to 30 minutes. When I'm done with the wheels, I start washing the car and by that time, the Diamondite has loosened up the bugs and they basically wipe right off. Or, you can also spray them again with the hose and they'll hose off. The Diamondite Bug Eraser is great.

As many have suggested, I think the "key" to removal is a good surface Poly protectant....something like Zaino, Rejex, NXT. I occasionally apply Meguires Ultimate Wax spray. Bugs just wipe right off with a re application of the spray wax or Ultimate Detailer.....very little effort.
