I'm sure everybody's got a story. I got my first scare when I finally got back to mississippi from purchasing my z06 from south florida. So yea, noob mistake of not getting used to the car first. It was late at night, nobody is around on a 3 lane interstate. I'm in the middle lane and decide to do my first short pull in the car. Going about 70mph, I dropped in 2nd and coasted for a quick second before getting down on it. As soon as I floored it, the car kick sideways. Scared the crap out of me. I straightened up and ended in the far right lane. But yea, that was it. haha. Being that had happened, I found out I had 4 pretty much bald tires. The previous owner did not replace the tires for me like he said. >=( But the car is fun with new tires. -=D

you couldn't see you had four bald tires when you picked it up? i would think they stood out like a sore thumb.
First time I REALLY put it down was a few days after I bought it on the on-ramp to an empty 4 lane. I glanced down to see I was already at 140+ in fourth with plenty of room left. I was pretty shocked. Thankfully that taught me a lot. I've had a moment or two of OH CRAP at takeoff but nothing too serious.
Honestly it was my mistake to over look it. I looked over the whole body too. I assumed they were new since that's what I was told. I was so excited to buy the car was probably why.

Although I dont have a Z car, I had a similar thing happen to me when I was running Kumho tires in the rear. I hit it at 70 on the highway and almost lost complete control. I immediately changed the tires to NT05's.
