Friday I took our 2005 vette out for a drive after about 20 minutes on the road all of the gauges went to 0 and all the warnings went off say low fuel, low tire pressure, low everything. I was about 5 minutes from the local Chevy dealer so I drove it to there and when I shut the engine down it wouldn't start again. They try to jump it off and that wouldn't work, they hook the computor to it and it gave them voltage errors. He check the alternator which was changed about 8,000 miles back and said it was good. While sitting there tring to find the problem the seat started to move and the green light came back on the start button and then it would crank, hook it back to the computor and no voltage problems. Any idea of the problem, would hate for this to happen on a trip far away from a chevy dealer. Thanks

Shorted battery. Sulfate in the bottom accumulates from abuse. It finally shorts between plates or the plates warp and touch each other. Battery acts like a short. The power flowing through this short can burn the sulfate away and the battery returns to normal operation.
BTW, it's computEr. Periods are your friend. Grammar isn't just for students any more.
I had these same things happen to me while traveling on Easter this year. It seemed like the problem was related to the hot outside temperature. Luckily, the car started for the return trip home and I was able to take it into the shop the next day.
The vette dealership near me corrected the problem by reconnecting something in the body control module (if this is not at the top of the passenger footwell they had to reconnect something in that area too), something in the steering wheel was off track (solenoid maybe?), and they reprogrammed my computer and key fob.
So far no problems 6 weeks later. Hope this helps, I know it's not real descriptive but I was just happy to have my car back/fixed.

An older guy warned me of this EXACT thing Friday night when his Vette was parked next to mine at the mall. He has an 07 and he told me to watch my battery. lol
Also, go around correcting grammar and guys get mad at you around here. Just sayin'.
The battery was new 5/2010. We drove it another 30 or 40 miles this weekend with no problem. I think I will replace the battery to be on the safe side and all the connection on the alternator are tight, first thing we checked. Thanks

also make sure the battery cable connections at the battery, and at the starter and ground, are tight...

Before you spring for a new battery, check all the grounds - there are like 12 of them.

How many times has this battery been discharged? If never or less than twice then I will revise my comment. A battery should be able to last more than 2 years even if abused a few times. It might be a bad connection. Alternator connections were checked so I will assume the battery connections were also checked. That leaves the negative connection to the engine block as the next most likely to cause the issue as described. Temperature cycling might have caused this connection to break and then make again.
You might should jack up the right front and get under there to the starter solenoid and check to insure the battery connection there is clean and tight. Do not forget that its electrically hot there.
