If I buy a GPS from a used C6 what do I have to do to get it running. Does the dealer need to unlock it?

Dealer (or somebody with one) uses a TechII to match the nav radio to the vin

I am going from a regular 6 pack cd player to a GPS will the Tech ll still work or do I need a serial number from the car it came out of?

Some dealers will require proof of purchase, others will not.

The Tech II is all that is required for the radio. The head unit needs to be introduced to your VIN in order to disable the theft lock.
