Took the car out this morning for a drive and to pick up a few things from the store....After picking up the items I go to start the car up and the dreaded Check Engine light comes on .....Came home right away and hooked up the scanner and code PO442(evaporative leak)...Checked my gas cap and wouldnt you know it...It was loose ..lol
I filled up with gas a few days back I could have sworn I tightened it...I guess not tight enough .......Erased the code with the scanner re-tightned the cap and all is well
What scanner do you recommend and where is the best place to purchase said scanner?
I have AutoXray E-Z Read 2000 which I bought back in 98...Used to use it on my OBD1 88 Camaro..Then I upgrded the software to handle ODBII back in 2000 when I bought my GMC Jimmy...Works great...Summit sells them

Just about any auto parts chain will carry one. Just buy a hand held OBD II code reader that has the ability to clear a code after it's been read. Heck, even Wally World carry's them now. That's where I bought mine. Used one of the kids employee discount card.
