Trying to decide between the V1 or Passport 8500 X50.
Can anyone tell me if they have about the same detection range?
Thanks for any information.
I have the Escort Passport 9500ix and it is great. Have it mounted under my mirror with an "invsi cord" that plugs into back of mirror. I like it. Just my 2 cents lol......

Same set up here. Very happy with it. Not sure bout the range or how it compares to Val 1.
After all I read, it appears you can't go wrong with either one. Although I like that Valentine 1 comes with a remote so that the main unit is not lit and can't be seen under the rearview mirror by drafters/police officers.
The V1 has much better range than the Escort 8500 X50. The Escort Redline has better range than the V1.
Don't trust the data on radartest.com The guy who owns that site also sells Escort Radar Detectors but not Valentine 1 and is known to favor the products he sells.
