Currently I have a set of wheels with 19x11 +73 offset. They clear the Z06 brake package on my C6 but I feel like my 305x30x19 RE-11s look a little "stretched" on the wheel. I'm buying a second set of wheels for track use only and want to try 19x11 +63 offset for street. They will still clear the brakes.
Now on to the question...
I'm being told going from the +73 offset to +63 offset that the wheel will stick out past the fender. This doesn't make sense to me. My mind says it will actually sit a bit further inside the fender. Am I looking at it backwards or is +63 going to make the wheels sit outside the fender?
It is easiest to visualize if you picture the two OEM offsets. A smaller positive number will move the wheels further out. In your case, they won't stick out quite as far the Z06 wheels but may be out a little past wheel well. The 1 inch narrower than OEM wheel will help your cause but the offset will hurt it.
Your offset and wheel and tire sizes are as follows:
C6 non Z06 (Base)
Wheels
Front 18 x 8.5, +56 mm offset
Rear 19 x 10, +79 mm offset
The offset on the OEM C6 Z06 are as follows:
Wheels
front: 18 inch x 9.5 inch, +40 offset
rear: 19 inch x 12 inch, +59 offset
