Roof pin breaking?
I have a 2006 coupe with the body color roof panel and while washing it the other day I noticed that the drivers side of the roof panel was not flush with the halo. I pushed down very slightly on it and about 3 seconds later the roof pin on that side fell out and landed in the seat. It sheared off from the roof panel!
The roof panel has been on the car for many years now and I only occasionally take it off. I haven't had the chance to take the panel off the car yet to see if I can get the stud out. Really hoping to avoid having to get a new panel.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I've been on since 2005 and never heard of this before.

Received the pins. Thank you again!
They do look different than the ones that are currently on the car. They must have changed the design after 2006. Does anyone know if the pin receptors on the halo are also different? I wouldn't want to install new pins that aren't designed for the older receptors.

My guess is the locating pins on the targa panel are the same as on the convertible. One of the forum members recently posted the same problem with a convertible top.
I suggest you remove the front trim panel and check to see if the clip is still in the top. If it is you can probably put the pin back in and reuse the old clip. In the other thread a new pin and clip were $30.00 plus dollars.

They should be identical man, since nothing changed on the car. But post a picture of the receptor cavity if you want, and any of us can tell you right away. I'm pretty sure the change on the pins was a provision to install an O-ring, to avoid any movement, and therefore creaks. Post a picture of the 2 pins too while you're at it . Good luck.
