Default Headrest FLAGS Embroidery - OB1

I'm curious why this option has such a low percentage of option @ less than -10% of the 2012 models?

Is it because of an unraveling problem of the embroidery....

Or the fear of a possible unraveling that most folks don't go with this option?

In my opinion, because of the size / scale of the seats / headrest, the Flags help to break up all of that seat color.

Please chime in with your opinion or experience with these Flags.

Thanks!

I think that some people think that there are enough crossed flags on the car and like to keep it simple.

I've have had mine for 3 years with no problems.

I've had mine since Oct 08, no issues with them yet. I got the 2 tone seats and the logo, looks good IMO.

My experience is that the flags are absolutely trouble free, and I've never seen any showing and signs of problems. It seems to me that the more informed the dealer is the more likely that they will order the flags. Also remember that the flags are included with the two-tone seats so not separately ordered with them and a different flag is included on 4LT so way more than 10% of production has the flags.

Most dealers don't have a clue on how to order a Corvette

Could it be because Grand Sports, ZO6's and ZR1's have embroidery on headrest as standard or part of the Heritage package?

Kerbeck's PDF chart shows the numbers for Option OB1...
all models combined @ 9.3% (tried to link here but it wouldn't go ).

That may be true but there are flags included on other interiors that do not come under the OB1 option count. That is what I was saying.

Also if you look at Kerbeck's inbound inventory you will see a far higher than 10% number 2LT and 3LT cars ordered with OB1. Obviously, not all dealers are as on top of it in their ordering. Plus all two-tones and all 4LT have flags and/or headrest embroidery.

I have the OB1 optional embroidered crossed flags on the headrests of my 2011 GS (2LT) with the standard ebony interior ... it was a $300 option

No problems whatsoever with them

I had them on my 2007 and never had a problem with them. My 2012 does not have them and I do miss them.

I just don't like the feel of them behind my head. I rest my head back a lot (my neck hurts most of the time, condition) and I sat in a Vette that had them ... just bothered me having them there. I like the smooth feel of the seats without them on the headrests.

That is just my reason, but it's not too crazy, so I'd imagine it could be another factor for some people.

I had crossed flags on my 04 which I sold this year and had no problems. I also ordered them on my new 2012 GS.

No crossed flags on mine, but I do have the Grand Sport Heritage Package which includes the Grand Sport logo embroidery on the headrests. No issues, and it does break up the two tone a bit, I get a lot of positive comments on it.
