Some versions do, like the Thermo-coustic padding. Comes in different forms for different applications, so it depends on which version you are thinking of. There are some recent threads here on the subject.
Isn't ensolite just a closed cell foam? If so its only real purpose is some higher frequency sound reduction and decoupling an actual deadening layer such as mass loaded vinyl.
It comes in varied thickness and will insulate to a modest degree. I used (L to R) 1) BXTII 2) 3/8" Ensolite 3) 1/8" Adhesive-backed Ensolite 4) Heat Shield.

Thrash,
I did not realize it came in so many forms. I want to insulate the tunnel. Is the thick silver faced one the one you used? Were you happy with it? Can you recommend a forum vendor?
The bottom one is Raam Mat used for sound deadening of the large plastic surface in the vette. It is a heavy rubbery substance. Those who do audio upgrades use this.
The top one is a light, foil backed material used for heat/sound insulation. Most owners use this for the application you are describing. Available from VetteNuts.
The second one down is an adhesive backed Ensolite closed cell foam used for heat/sound insulation.
I used all three for an audio upgrade. In layers the Raam Mat went on first followed by Ensolite and then the foil backed foam.
Instead of sticking the Ensolite to the car I stuck it to the back of the VetteNuts product in case I ever wanted to remove it.
The Raam Mat and Ensolite are available from Raam Audio.
