Default 2007 Z06 question

I was installing my Varaam intake and put a hole in what ever is in front of the radiator and not the oil cooler. Does anyone know what that is?

I just ordered another one for 150$. Is it a lot of labor to install? It did have a lot of pressure in it.

Labor no, but time and money yes. You will have to get the AC system refilled again once you replace the condensor.

I just let it bleed out for about an hour or so. I couldn't stop it.

You will need to repl the part you busted and then have the system evacuated and recharged (oil added if you lost any as well-for the a/c compressor)

The hissing sound was the sound of money escaping... Don't feel too bad though, it has been done many times by members here. Maybe they need to make the instructions more clear on that possibility.

I wouldnt think it'd be too bad right? Are you doing the work yourself? When I had a new engine put in my camaro they forgot to recharge the ac so I got a couple cans of the r134a and did it myself. Took only a few minutes to recharge. So replacing the condenser and recharging the ac and that should be about it right?

After the system has been open to the outside air, it needs to be evacuated and then have the right amount of oil and refrigerant added back. This takes expensive equipment.

If the system has any humidity/moisture (add: in the lines-it's a sealed closed system) then it could/will cause the system to freeze up especially in hot weather. Even more so if the system has correct charge. It will also 'likely' shorten the serviceable life of dryer/compressor as well as have no a/c while it's froze up/waiting for it to thaw out.

Yea it is so far. I can't believe chevy made the shroud like that covering the intake. Any one here using the varaam on there car. How do you like it. Well even after this setback i couldn't even install it i have to wait. Im not to mobile around a car. I had a few surgeries. So I'm stuck with that big Stock sponge thats in the original intake. You know the way it is set up i found about 100 dead ants and ants with wings in my intake. Pretty nasty.

Any place who does a/c work should be able to install repl part's and evacuate and charge the a/c system.

Did you find any oil in your intake?
