"Tramp Stamp Install"

hole is dead center of car(between muffler hangers)
Fasterthanall store
was not open this weekend or I would have gone by there and probably found what I needed, meanwhile I used what I had on hand. Next week I will visit them and get some sort of permanent device for attaching the bracket.I used a old fashion toggle bolt, admittedly too small....but I had it on hand already
and it actually seems to have secured the light very well.
After you remove the tailight(piece of the cake) just drop a string throug the hole and tie it to the wire on the light then pull wire up through tailight hole

I tied a socket to the string for ballast, you can see the string tied to the wire at very bottom of the above pic, sorry about that ugly *** hairy knee, that is scary

I used posi lock connectors to tap into the wires.
Tear the tape about an inch away from the terminal and then work the tape back out of your way.
Yellow is Brake
Black is Ground
Brown is power

Use a tie wrap for stress relief(see photo)
Dont forget to test before you mount

You will have some left over wiring, just bundle it up and tie wrap to harness behind the tailight.
I made a bracket from a piece of scrap I already had, but I hear a pre made bracket may be available very soon

This was a standoff for the sensor on a garage door, I just drilled a hole in it and painted it.

I may get one of those stainless Jake skulls and stick on the bracket
I doubt anyone except Corvette folks will ever spot the bracket. Here is a shot of the light inside the garage

I forgot to get a pic of the bracket installed when car was still raised but here is a shot with car sitting on ground.

After it gets dark I will try and post some more pics

Note: be very aware the little bracket that the torx screw(holds tailight in bumper)goes through will fall off inside bumper
I got lucky and found it very quickly. Also: what would youse guys recommend that would allow that blind hole to be utilized(like a thread insert)?
Hopefully this will help someone

Andrew Anderson sell these light(all kinds of them), the crossed flags light is way cool
Andrew is a forum vendor DoubleAA Mods and is one of the good guys. He also installs HUD and sell lots of other cool Corvette stuff, check him out

I may end up using JB Wold or some sort of epoxy to install a flange nut in there, its fits perfect....If I could just get it to stay, permanently
I guess I could get it spot welded

Great write-up, and great solution. It is the same principle as the one Andrew is evaluating.
Actually the small toggle bolt you used is strong enough to hold the light and bracket. There is no concern about losing the toggle if you need to remove the light, since the frame is open on the ends, and one or two corners would get rid of it. A Rivnut would would be hard to place in the hexagonal hole in the frame. I'm not too sure about the security of a JB Welded nut in place. JB Weld is some great stuff, but I wouldn't want to worry about dragging a light around behind my car. I think the toggle bolt is the perfect solution. Andrew should have some brackets available soon that would actually place the light out of sight, require no hole in the diffuser, and would show a larger image on the ground. Has anyone looked at the frame for the Z-06s or ZR-1s to see if that same hole is in the aluminum frame?
