Hey guys, just wanted to post about my experience using the Dr. Colorchip product. I recently bought a 2011 Grandsport and it had some small rock chips across the front of the car that I hated looking at. I had used this product in the past on my Camaro I traded in to fill in one larger chip and it worked pretty well, so I figured I would give it a shot again on my vette. Was very surprised at how easy and well all of the scratches disappeared. My car is SSB and because of the metallic nature of the paint, the small chips were masked well, but after using the Dr. Colorchip system they are all gone!!!! It looks like the front bumper was completely repainted and just rolled off showroom floor, hard to believe, I know, but its true. Just covered chips with the supplied paint and spread out using applicator brush, I didn't smudge with finger like they recommend, allowed to dry for about 20 mins and then wiped off with solution, buffed with microfiber towel, and then just cleaned up with meguires detailing spray and the surface is slick and shiny as day one. If anyone has this issue with the front of their car, I highly recommend!!! Just wanted to share
Interesting - glad it worked well for you. Others here have posted about their experiences with the product and they were not at all satisfied. Any chance you can post pics of the affected areas?

If I knew how to post pics on here, I could do that, but I don't know how. Can email or text you some if you would like or you could help me post on here?? Thanks

have tried a couple of different products and never had stellar results.
I'd like to see pics, too. I also have an SSB and have a couple of scuffs/chips on the front bumper and passenger door from the trip home from NCM. I have been contemplating Dr. Colorchip, but I'm a little spooked by the mixed reviews.

Yeah, I was skeptical as well, and had the kit in the cabinet for a month before I said, what the hell and gave it a shot. Will take some pictures later today and try to post them on here.

I would like to see pics as well....but if you obtained great results, I would be interested in the prep and application techniques you used.
I believe the most important variable in a great, good or poor result is probably more technique than anything else. I also believe there are colors that are easier to touch up than others.
here is the problem, I tired to take pics and the metallic flake in the paint and the shine of the paint just reflects and you can't get a good picture. To prep the surface, I just washed the car with dupont car wash liquid and then dried with absorber. Wiped down surface right before w/microfiber towel. To apply the product, I used the supplied applicator brushes and brushed out the paint over the surface so that it covered many chips at once, ensuring that no paint "blobs" were left. Almost like a paper thin layer of paint over the clear coat. I left on for about 20 mins and then wiped off with the applied solution, buffed with microfiber cloth, and then finished with detailing spray. I agree, some colors are easier to touch up, and my guess is that colors with alot of metallic in them are easier to cover. I am very picky about my cars and thus why I tried this product, because if it didn't work, I was thinking of having the bumper repainted, but no need now as it looks like showroom. You honestly can't tell it wasn't done by professional. You really can't even tell that I did anything to it at all, as there is no indication that there were ever any chips at all!!!! Hope this helps

and was just trying to be helpful, I am happy with the turnout of my car, if you guys are doubting the perfect results, then don't try the product and live with the rock chips...I mean we do own a 60-70K car, so it should look perfect, right???

You have been a member here long enough to know that endorsements without pictures are worthless.
There are scams on this forum, and more elsewhere.
I have to question that there is enough metallic flake in any corvette that could prevent you from taking a picture. You may have to change the angle, but you explanation is not reasonable.
Now, if you have to take the picture at an angle and it shows where you touched up, then that's all I need to know.
I've used it on my truck and the vette. Colorchip worked for me. I think part of the problem is weather conditions, moisture in the air, getting the chip cleaned out. I've read the bad review on here. Did that guy call Dr. Colorchip about his issue?
