Default Emission requiremnts

Several states have the same emission requirements and my state of Washington is the same as California. If one could chose how stringent the emission requirement would be as for power, mpg and smoothness, what would the best states be? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Are you talking about all things being equal with the Corvette as it is from the factory or are you talking about modifying the car?

What I am doing is ordering a new 2013 and would like to get the best bang for the buck as far as emissions goes. Not that I am a tree hugger but would like my fuel to turn the wheels not save the frogs.

All Corvettes are the same. They are 50 states legal.

Every US spec Corvette that leaves the factory is FE9 Federal Emissions legal. Every US spec Corvette that leaves the factory is mechanically and electrically the same. Simply stated there is no difference in a Corvette horsepower wise that is headed for California than there is one headed for North Carolina (or any other state). The difference is in state mandated bureaucracy and decals on the car stating what emissions standard it is, not in the mechanics of the car itself.

Order what you want and even for Washington state, you will enjoy it.

Agreed with several above posts. All emissions equipment is the same regardless of what state the car goes to. Enjoy!

Default Thank you all for the input on my emission question

I admit the NE1 and FE9 stuff had me confused but I will not worry about it. Thanks for the help on this one, the forum works. Bob H

Trust me when I tell you that emissions related information confuses everyone. Here is an example of the emissions that makes a car New England (NE1) or California (YF5) compliant:

Your best bet would be to order the car with the California Emissions sticker. That way, you will increase your available market when it comes time to resell it...since all California buyers could buy the car. I believe the cars are identical except for that pesky sticker.
