I have a narrow body 08, mainly because it was the most I could pay for with no payment and keeping a pocket full of cash for when a deal on a bigger home with some acreage presents itself. As for looks, wide body trumps narrow body IMO.

I'd like to add (since I posted earlier) that regardless of what body type one has, there is no reason to look down upon the other. Some people like the Coupe style and some like the Z06 style ... doesn't mean either is better than the other -appearance wise-.

I sold off my coupe, and was lucky/dumb enough to buy a Z06 later on. I still like the coupes and don't get the "hate" for GS/Z/widebody, etc.
I'm even starting to see Z06 vs Z07 (perf package) segregation sometimes... which I just don't get. Perhaps it's a status/purity thing...
Personally, I would have gotten a wide-booty coupe if I could have found one for the right price in the right color, but as it stands it was essentially a wash to buy a [used] Z06 than to get another coupe and do the conversion myself (panels, paint, wheels/tires, etc) - it's almost like I got the LS7 for free!

To each his own, I personally liked the styling of my C6 standard body when I saw it on the show room floor. I do not see any reason for ME to change it.
What the heck, some folks like to modify their cars to personalize them and good for them.

I've had both... an '09 "base" coupe, and now a '12 Grand Sport. Both have been Cyber Gray (not to start another argument ) and I liked the looks of both of them. I'm one of those nuts who think all (OK, most) Corvettes look good.

I love both models, and generally think all C6's look great. The narrow body has a classic, sexy shape that will never grow old. It doesnt have overly muscular lines & bulges. That said, I have no problem admitting the widebody does look & perform better. And it should, because it costs more.
When I went shopping, I knew two things: 1) I wanted a Corvette. 2) My budget was $30K. It didnt have to be the fastest, the most expensive, the widest or the newest Corvette. But it did have to be a C6. The 2007 I purchased does every single thing I expected it would and so much more. Its wonderful to drive, it has more performance than I have driving skill and I get a TON of compliments on it. Happiness is getting what you want. Satisfaction is enjoying what you already have.
The quicker you can figure that out. The less stress & debt you will end up with.. from trying to keep up with the Jones'es. Even if you bought a top of line ZR1 today.. tomorrow there would still be something faster & better looking. The key is to get what you really want and enjoy having it. Eventually you have to be satisfied with something, or you will never truly enjoy anything.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

You can put Z06/GS size tires on a standard C6 with the right wheels with the right offset. CCW has supplied those wheels to many Forum Members. I would go that route myself rather that a wide booty. I have no desire for wide fenders but do want more rubber on the road.

I have a narrow body vette and love it. Dislike the GS gills but think the Z06 is ok. Would love to own a ZR1 or 2013 anniversary 427 vert but will wait to see what the 2015/16 model years bring.
