NAV commands to me would be talking to the NAV system for guidance configuration only......no???
First, Bluestar is a Bluetooth addon to enable configuration of a Bluetooth phone. Onstar is a satallite service for vehicle tracking, owner assistance, theft recovery and they will provide voice turn by turn directions with a subscription.
Vehicle navigation is a separate function on those vehicles equipped with a U3U touch screen navigation radio.
If you install Bluestar you will lose access to your Onstar services. You will also lose voice commands (ie, you speak to the navigation radio and it responds in the form of a search or command) because these go through the VCIM (vehicle communications interface module) of which a primary function is Onstar.
If you have a separate U3U Navigation radio, it will still function and it will still provide you with spoken turn by turn directions..ie...."turn left in 2.0 miles."
So, you will not lose turn by turn from the navigation radio but you would lose spoken Onstar turn by turn navigation commands and voice command control over the navigation radio.
