Just took of my wheels and the lung nuts werer so tight i need to stand on them to get them off is this normal. Any one knows how tight to make them .
Proper torque setting is 100 ft lbs....also use a dab of anti-seize lubricant on each stud. Don't use an impact wrench (air or electric) unless you check with a torque wrench.

i still wouldn't use a impact gun. its too easy to over tighten and its easier to scratch or damage your lugs with them. But thats just me.
The last post is most important, putting any kind of lube on the lugs and then tightening to 100 lb/ft will be seriously over-torquing. People usually get away with it, but that doesn't make it a good idea.
If you have a beater that you drive through salty winter, and only take the wheels off every 40k miles for new tires/brakes, then removing the nuts might be a problem. On our Corvettes, they've always come off easily even when i did drive in winter.
EDIT-
Bill beat me to it!
