Default Battery question

Just picked up an '07 which still has the original Delco battery... on borrowed time... but no issues yet...

I have heard Autozone has a good battery... anyone use them?

Last red top Optima I bought for my Trans Am was DOA... trying to stay away from them...

Other thoughts....

My '07 still has the original battery....putting the load tester on it, it's really strong...but I do keep an eye on it....

When it goes to vette heaven, I will most likely get an interstate to replace it.....

Why not stick with the OEM battery they seem to do the job and last a good amount of time. Yours is still good and that is 5 years old. When mine goes that is what I plan to do.

Johnson Controls manufactures Optima and many other auto store and Walmart battery brands.Replaced the delco in my c5 with a Walmart ,great battery for the money. OEM delco in '08 c6 no problems so far.

I put in an AC Delco for about $105, has been pretty good. My original lasted five years and I replaced it before it died.

I have heard the of OEM's lasting 7 years. Are you on borrowed time?? anyones guess. If it were me I'd replace it with either another Delco or Interstate.
We replaced the battery in our S-10 Blazer with an AutoZone top of the line battery. When we traded it in that battery had been in for over 6 years and was still going strong.

Advance Auto batteries are made by Johnson Controls like Zone, Delco, most Walmart and with promo code raf7ja1102 ($35off) it is 90 bucks for a Group 90. That is the one I plan to get when mine dies.

I had an exide orbital select (AGM) in my 2001 TA... It was a great battery.... replaced it after 10 years!! still pretty strong even then.

Your being in Toronto, I would agree with you...my being in the states, the last thing I want to do is give my government more of my hard earned money......

The OEM battery in my very early '07 lasted 39 months. I replaced it with a Yellow Top size 35. It's a DD and I've had zero trouble with it. The few times I do park it for extended periods I connect a Battery Tender Junior.

I agree w. Dave. Also, get yourself a battery "maintainer," like a Schumacher, Battery Tender, C-tek, Harbor Freight, Sears, etc. And use it!

I use mine anytime I'm not going to use the car for a couple or more days. Mine is a Ctek and has (and my older Schumacher had it, too) the plug in connection for the dash/cigar lighter, so it's super-easy to use, to see that it's connected (no driving out of the garage w. it still connected! ), and works!

I replaced my July, '07 batt. this spring w. another Delco just to be safe. And fwiw, I just read a post about a fellow who had an issue w. a new Duralast.

FYI, It is VERY EASY to use the "search" button in the above red band: just hit search, go to advanced search, plug in a key word in the upper left (like "duralast"), hit time for say, last 3 months, hit C6 Gen for where you want to search, and VOILA!)

Here's the thread on Duralast at AutoZone; you decide if the battery/store works for you.
