Default Third Corvette, first problem

Right rear tire...XX

Sometimes I get XX, sometimes 80+ psi, sometimes tire flat, sometimes correct pressure, repeat. I am not looking forward to having the repair done, but I suppose it's time to make the call

Sounds like a bad tire pressure sensor to me. If that's it, it's no big deal.

My concern is the removal of the tire from the wheel.

Find a tire shop that knows what they're doing and no removal necessary. Just have to break the bead on one side to push the sidewall down enough to exchange sensors.

It's under warranty, I'll take it to the dealer, if they goof up, it's on them.

I'd take it off myself (if I wasn't going to take it to a dealer). Then torque it back down with a torque wrench.

It shouldn't be any bigger deal that doing a tire repair. Just have the dealer or a good shop do it.

If its under warranty don't pull that off yourself. There are a lot of techs out there that know their job.

JLB768,

I'm sorry you're having a tire pressure issue. Let us know how everything goes at the dealer.

I briefly thought about pulling the wheel off, and taking that to the dealer, but due to the warranty, figured they'd probably need to see the whole car
