Laser & Radar Detector Opinions Please

One example: Your driving on the highway. You get a K band alert on your V1. You look over and see the arrows go from front, to side, to rear as you are passing a car with K band lane assist. You just learned that the K was from lane assist and it is a false alert and you continue your journey. How long would it take for you to determine it was a false alert without the arrows?

I'm not one to constantly speed, I do from time to time, but not usually during heavy traffic. I'm more concerned about a jealous, or over enthusiastic law enforcement loving driver, calling the police to report a wreckless vette driver. Then they just sneak up on you without radar, and you are caught.

Nice thread
Im in the market for a RD also.
RD will be for the DD C6 so I am leaning towards the Passport 9500ix since it learns where the false alarms are and cancels them. Also need the blend mount and power wire that plugs into mirror since I can not handle power cord hanging off RD.

Anyone tried the Escort Live? Justadded it and like the advance warning. I think it will only get better as we get more users reporting.

Yeah, I hear ya. I'm not even close to the fastest driver on the road either. To me, it gives me peace of mind and makes driving more enjoyable. Most of the time the detector goes off and I'm OK, but there are occassions that I loose track of speed and need to slow down.

9500ix with blend mount I picked up used for a killer price in the parts section here. It works great in FLA and picks up FHP like nobody's business. I'm considering adding laser protection too.

I've been running the Escort 8500's for a few years now in both my Vette and my Avalanche... so far so good. I have recently considered trading them in for the 9500's though. I prefer them over the V1. My buddy had a V1 in his Z06... I hated it because it was going ff all the time.. he loved it for the arrows. To each his own

I love my 9500ci and its features. Took about 6 hours to install by myself because I was careful to make sure everything work as it was intended too.

Agree 100%, LI is the best hands down, the top 4 or 5 detectors are very close, just depends on your personal preferences as to what is the best for you.
