Default Wide Wheel Question

I recently purchased a 2011 standard coupe which I love but I have one concern. The dealer had swapped the wheels/tires with a GS for some reason so now I have 12" wide rims/tires which extend past the body some. Other than the dirt/rock issue are there any potential issues running wide rims on the standard c6?

Also, any recommendations for a good place in the Austin, Texas area for parts and service for my Vette? https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...coolgleamA.gif

That doesn't make sense. Why would a dealer go out of his way to make two cars look stupid by swapping wheels like that? Sounds more like a car they took in on trade and sold to you?

Don't the fenders hit the wheels on bumps? I can't see driving it in the real world. Maybe a smooth freeway.

Default Wide wheels

Seems to ride OK. Maybe a little restriction when the steering is all the way over to the lock. I saw photos - when the car came in to the dealer it had the stock wheels, when I got it maybe a month later it had the GS wheels and some almost new Goodyear F1 runflats.

Sell em and put the right size on the car. The popo might pull you over for having incorrect tire size.

If the tires are not first gen run craps, keep them and get some rims fitting your base. You can run this width of tires as long as you have correct offset on the rims. You will need minimum eleven inch rear rims but it will work. You can always sell the rims, should be way cheaper than wide body conversion you would need otherwise.

The OP just bought this car, I would forego all the hassles of dealing with the wheels and take the picture he has of the car with stock wheels back too the dealer and ask for the correct size.

Besides, this is too much hassle for someone that may be new to Corvette to fool around with. He wants to enjoy his car now.

Buyer beware still applies when buying a used car, I seriously doubt the dealer will be accommodating here since this is not a safety issue. The OP should have asked this question before making the purchase, then your approach would MAYBE apply
