I have no issues on my '05 or our CTS/SRX's either. All three vehicles have the 'warts' and not the hidden antenna like on the newer 'Vettes. Could this be at least a partial reason for the problem?
I have the wart and no problems with reception....had "warts" on my 2 previous Acura's and on my current DD and no problems at all, only problem I have with reception is on the Harley...
The XM receiver used in the Corvette is not a very good one because it is the first generation unit engineered almost 10 years ago. I swapped mine with a Sirius receiver and it's not any better than the XM receiver. The one in my 2011 Caddy hardly every cuts out....

I am having a lot of issues and the Dealer cannot figure it out - my speakers cut on and off when I hit bumps ONLY when I am listening to XM - not the radio... have any ideas on that? I would appreciate it - been trying to fix it over a year now....
I had a three month free trial on my 2013 Grand Sport. The songs were constantly fading out for a second or two every few minutes. Some days and locations were worse then others. I had the signal refreshed three times and it did nothing to improve the service. I know a lot of people that are satisfied with Sirius. Are there any other Vette owners that think this thing stinks?
I got XM in my Acura years ago and it was great, it would only fade if going under a long overpass. Over the course of several years the signal would cut out and fade more and more. I thought the radio was getting old. Got a new radio and it was no better so I dropped XM. Three years later I got my C6 with free 3 months free and found since the consolidation with Sirius it was even worse. I think they are digitizing more content to the same bandwidth on the sat signal and it becomes less and less stable.

sounds like the XM tuner attached to the back of your radio head unit is loose.
The only fade issue I had in the last 1,200 miles is on my street which explains poor cell phone reception as well. I like XM but for the low miles of travel.
Don't waste your money on XM/Sirius. Biggest rip off of all time. Lots of good alternatives for free. Pandora for one. Much, much better. The only time I would take XM is if it was free.

It is free right now. They have been broadcasting 60 free channels for the last couple of weeks.

dang XM reps here? who else is coming to the party? OnStar??
Don't be surprised. Every manufacturer that makes a major component for these cars is bound to have representation on more and more forums. Social media can sink a companies reputation so they want to give the impression that they really care.
