With all the common C5 defects (column lock, fuel gauge, shift rumble, leaking rear end, seat belt jamming, rocking seat, parking brake, etc.), what does everyone think will be some of the more common C6 defects?
The number one defect will be owners who expect it to be as luxurious or well-finished or as ****ling-defect-free as (1) same-priced luxury cars with half the performance or (2) double-priced sports cars with equivalent performance.
Fortunately, Cadillac will have the XLR to better suit their tastes.
There is no excuse for some of these problems that have persisted for years .... except that it's cheaper to repair the problem, than reengineer a better solution ... I've had my share of these problems in both a 99 and a 2000 ... I wouldn't trade mine for anything .... but it's about time the quality was improved ...

Sounds like they have an excuse then.... :)

Why should quality improve if you won't switch brands? :) Seriously, there's only so much they're going to do to reengineer a part on an existing car. And if the problem is that it's just too cheap, they're probably not going to replace it with a more expensive part except through repairs, lest the vast majority of owners without a problem demand an upgrade.
Remember that GM is in it to make money. I'm sure C6 will be better overall than C5 in the quality department (once the initial production bugs are worked out of course), and it will be more expensive too. But it's GM, so there's going to be one or two parts that are compromised and we're going to live with them and buy the cars anyway. Nature of the beast.
