exhaust question
i have an 09 z06 and my buddy has a 12 grand sport. his is louder than mine. his car is bone stock. i think mine is too but i did remove the exhaust flappers chip. i'm going to try to post a pic of my exhaust but my car does seem awfully quiet. i test drove another z06 before i bought mine and that one was louder than mine too. any input? thanks!

The zo6 exhaust didn't get louder until they re tuned it for 2011 models. Essentially it's using the same exhaust that is on the grand sport which has a solid pipe rather then a perforated one in your 09 z. Did u test drive a z from 2011 or more? If so, the car will be louder then yours

cool. what's the hottest exhaust choice these days? I'll be setting up a mild to wild switch. Do the flappers always open when the car is first fired up?

Good choices include corsa, borla and b&b. Although I don't have a z, I have an 09 coupe and put corsa sport on it an I love it. Corsa sounds great on the z as well. Yes w mild to wild the car will start up in the open position and have that nice deep start up sound

2011 and up Zs use the ZR1 cans now so you can get some from eariler ZR1 or from both models on the newer ones and you will have a louder exhaust like the NPP GS or base Vettes, I know I put a set of ZR1 cans on our Coupe

The 2012 models all have a second set of cats in the x-pipe. The additional cats will quiet things down a bit. I just put a Borla ATAK on my 12 and found it to be quieter than many of the clips I've heard from previous model years.
