Default Driver Heated Seat

I have a 07 Vet and when I turn the drivers heated seat on I can not get it to turn off unless I shut the engine down. I disconnected the the wires under the seat and tried it again and still stays on. Could this be a bad switch or a relay. Thanks

Heck. I have heated seats in my 06 coupe, and I don't have heated seats!

If you disconnected the wires to the seat, you have the same full time heated seats that most of us have!

I had the same problem. Mine was intermitent. Sometimes would come on and could not turn off, sometimes would not come on. Took a while to find because everytime I took it in it would work fine. Turned out to be a controller. It was replace under warranty.
Good Luck

I assume you pressed the bottom of the switch?

Good point. they have a hot mode(red) and a milder mode(yellow) and then a turn off switch.

Yes I did, I have to turn the engine off to turn the heated seat off. When I restart if I want the seat heated I press the switch on and to turn off, turn engine off.

I don't have an answer to your problem, but to me, the heated seats are about the least used and most unnecessary thing on a Vette. I can count on 2 fingers the number of people I know who drive their Vette in the winter or colder months (I live in PA) so what good is it? I asked Harlan Charles why they didn't put air cooled seats in instead of the heated ones and he said it was a matter of inches. There just wasn't enough room to run cooling ducts beneath the seats, so they got heat instead. I definitely would have preferred a cooler rear than a warmer one!

I doubt that it is a switch problem. The corvette heated seat switches actually do not "switch" anything. Rather, they send signals to the modules located beneath the seats and the modules communicate with the BCM which in turn controls the temperature through the HVAC control module. The heated seat system used on the C6 is extremely complicated when compared to most other systems.

According to my '08 service manual: "There are three levels of load management controlled by the body control module (BCM). The BCM sends the status of load management to the HVAC control module via a class 2 message. In response to this message, the HVAC control module signals the heated seat modules through the heated seat module inhibit signal circuit indicating the current load management level". It goes on to describe the three levels and durations of each heated cycle and current level and how it is controlled through the modules, BCM and HVAC. It's complicated. The switch is probably not the problem, my guess would be the seat module.

That's what I said. I guess he didn't want to here that. And you are right about the switches.

Add one more finger ZO6RL..ok you don't know me, so I'll give you that...but I drive the vette year round...and the seat heaters are a must during the cold Chicago winters. I agree however that cooled seats would have been a nice addition for the hot summers.
