Paint Problem!
Have taken my car to work twice in the last month, both times had bird crap on it (black 2005 coupe), didn't notice it till I got home later in the day. Went to wipe it off and both times it had eaten into the paint and made a terrible mark- took Mcguires machine polish to it and one of the marks came out, but the other one (on removable top) has eaten into the paint so bad it won't come out- anyone else ever have this problem?

bird poop etchings really suck. I'm careful to always wipe that sh#t off as soon as I see it, and Itry to watch out for parking locations where it can happen. But once it's done it's damage, there isn't much you can de besides polish/wetsand down past the damage.

I have had the same problem, did not get the dropings off in time. I also have acid rain etching on my top and on my rear hatch. It was on the car when i bought it and i really did not see it or i would have not bought it.

Opt-Coat or some other permanent paint protection! That way if it eats into anything, it's that not your clear coat. A good coat of wax on top of that and you should be safe. Option B - carry a cover with you, black cars are tough to keep clean for sure.
