I have a 2012 GS coupe with 2K miles. When I turn the wheel from side to side, there's a click/clunk that is heard from what seems under the dash or within the steering column.
It's not just at rest that it does this; I can be moving and mid corner, and when the steering wheel gets pulled the opposite direction I get this click/clunk sound.
I've seen some threads on what seemed to similiar situations, but never a definitive answer on what needs to be repaired or replaced.
There is a batch of bad steering gears in some of the 2012 corvettes. A friend just had to have his replaced and it corrected the issue. Go see your dealer. If they have questions tell them to call the corvette plant.

It's your steering rack. Mine is on number 2 and it's a 2013.
