Default Air Bag Light

I have a 2006 coupe. The air bag warning light keeps coming on. I have taken it to the dealer and they work on it. The light will stay off for a time and then it starts coming on again. Has anyone else on the forum had this problem?

Just wrap the yellow connectors under the rear of both seats with a Zip tie really tight and the light may permanently go away. At least it did for me any many others. Use search - your friend - there is a thread with many pictures. 5 minute fix for a few cents.

zip tie approach didnt work for me and there is very little on the subject other than everyone saying, "zip tie it!"

the dealer told me both sensors were bad. those are $100 each.

They had to replace my sensors, I have a 2011, but I was lucky, it was done under warranty.

On our 2006, it was the connectors under my seat.

On our 2009, my driver's seat belt pretensioner, where the buckle plugs in, had to be replaced. I think the wires got damaged when I sat on it and bent it severely. It went back to normal shape but the problem started after that.

Check post seven. This is my seat showing the zip ties. This connector is attached to the back of both seats. I zip tied them several years ago and the check air bag light never came back. This was after numerous trips to the dealer over a four year period. One time the pre-tensioner had an open circuit and they replaced the tensioner under my GMPP. That fixed it for awhile and the light came back. The reason it fixed it was they made a better connection. The tensioner was not the problem. Cheap connectors and the seat moving in and out every time you get in and out is usually the problem.
